Person-Centred Therapy (PCT)

I trained initially in person centred therapy (PCT). The PCT model is widely used and was developed by the renowned psychologist, Carl Rodgers. It is a non-directive approach which works to develop a client/therapist relationship that is non-judgemental and demonstrates empathy, congruence (genuineness) and unconditional positive regard. Establishing such a relationship encourages clients to explore difficult issues and identify their own strengths to develop personal insight into finding solutions to their problems.
